OPTICS 1, Inc. over the
past 23 years has designed and built Opto-Mechanical, and Electro-Optical
systems for visible, thermal infrared, and UV systems as well as
non-imaging and illumination optics. Our Defense Systems Division,
located in Manchester, NH, is looking for an Optical Engineer to
join the team!
General Job Description:
You will be involved in the design and development of opto-mechanical
and Electro-Optical systems. This includes lens design, tolerance
analysis, drawing preparation, and module / component testing in
support of a variety of program deliverables ranging from prototype
hardware to first article production units. Occasional travel is
required.
Specific Job Requirements:
- BS/MS degree in optics or related field
- Minimum 5 years experience assembling & testing electro-optical
devices
- Experience with Zemax, CODE V, or similar lens design software
- High proficiency working with optical tools including but not
limited to interferometers, MTF test equipment, alignment telescopes,
inspection devices and various adhesives (epoxies, UV curing cements,
etc.)
- Ability to interface with customers and suppliers in technical
areas relating to the project.
- Self manage tasks and projects and explore areas of creative
growth and new business.
Other Requirements:
- Strong organizational, presentation and customer relationship
skills
- Strong Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings
- Highly skilled in handling high-end optical components
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Work effectively in a team environment or independently
- Basic computer skills
- Capability of effectively delivering a product within specification,
schedule and budget
- Experience with Microsoft Office Products: Word, Excel, Outlook,
Power Point
