ultraviolet through far-infrared, for medical, industrial, commercial,
military and aerospace applications. Our Defense Systems Group,
located in Manchester, NH, is looking for a Mechanical Engineering
Manager whom also possesses strong engineering skills to join the
team!
General Job Description:
You will be leading a team of Mechanical Engineers in a
matrix-based organization. You will be responsible for resource
allocation, technical oversight, and professional development of
the mechanical engineering team. You will also be directly involved
in the design and development of opto-mechanical systems for visible,
infrared, and UV systems ranging from prototypes to full production
articles.
Some travel may be required.
Specific Job Requirements:
- BS/ME degree or equivalent with a minimum of 15 years experience.
- Leadership and management of a mechanical engineering team
to include resource allocation, technical oversight, and engineering
tool (design, analysis, reporting, etc.) management (5 years minimum).
- Fluent with SolidWorks - additional CAD packages are a plus.
- Knowledgeable about the mechanical requirements and issues
relating to mounting high-precision optics, physical field-stress
conditions, and the impact of extreme environments.
- Capability to perform analysis (manufacturing tolerance, stress,
thermal expansion, etc).
- Ability to conceptualize and define architectures, design,
develop, and document prototype efforts and support projects through
the manufacturing process.
- Interface with customers and suppliers in technical areas relating
to the project.
Other Requirements:
- Strong organizational and leadership/motivational skills.
- Solid communication skills relevant to the preparation of technical
reports and customer briefings.
- Experience in volume manufacturing environment and/or with
handheld electronic/electro-optical systems is a plus.
- Demonstrated leadership skills while having the ability to
be a team player.
